Lily Allen Recording New Album, According To Reports

Pop singer-songwriter Lily Allen has seemingly come out of retirement and begun work on a brand new studio album, the The Daily Star reports.

The tabloid paper reports that Allen was spotted in London's RAK Studios working on new material and could lead to the release of a new album – which could potentially come out in 2013. Whilst she hasn't quite reached the recording stage of the process, she is said to be writing about her husband, Sam Cooper, and their daughter Ethel.

The paper's source told them: “Lily has been in the studio trying different sounds and writing new tracks. She's not at a stage where she can start recording but the new album is definitely under way and there's a chance it could be released early next year.

“When Lily retired she honestly thought she'd never record again. But she started writing for the new Bridget Jones musical and that gave her the bug back. Her life has changed so much since her last album and she now has a different perspective. Lily wants a more mature sound and is penning tracks about [daughter] Ethel and [husband] Sam.”

Allen was thought to be making a comeback in summer last year as a country artist – something which didn't materialise.
