Paul McCartney fans span all ages. At his soundcheck in Uruguay, where Macca was kicking-off the South American leg of his current tour, a two year old fan made himself know to Paul's security team and was invited up on stage by Paul himself. The two year old boy, Ichiro, dressed in his own Sgt Peppers outfit, had travelled with his parents all the way from Argentina. Baby Ichiro even had his own miniature version of Paul's iconic Hofner bass guitar. Paul performed a version of 'Get Back' with Ichiro.
Speaking after the event Ichiro's father Pablo said: "Ichiro was a fan even before he was born. This was an incredible moment. No one is bigger than Paul McCartney."
Paul's show was at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo which hosted the first ever World Cup tournament in 1930. This was Paul's first ever visit to Uruguay.
The tour will visit Paraguay, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico before returning to the UK in June for Paul to headline the Diamond Jubilee concert.
In other news, Paul McCartney recently premièred the music video for 'My Valentine', which Paul directed himself and features Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman. The video was unveiled last Friday, 13th April, at a special event in Los Angeles.
'My Valentine' is one of two original McCartney compositions on his recent album, 'Kisses On The Bottom', a collection of standards Paul grew up listening to in his childhood recorded with producer Tommy LiPuma and Diana Krall and her band, largely at the legendary Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, as well as locations in New York and London throughout 2011.
