The Vaccines 'Essentially A Pop Band', Says Frontman Justin Young

Justin Young, frontman of The Vaccines, has claimed his band are 'essantially a pop band' - and added that 'pop' seems to be a dirty word in the music scene nowadays.
The band, who would normally be considered an indie-rock band, have decided that they think 'pop' should no longer be considered a dirty word – a comment which may give an insight into the style the band will be pursuing with the release of their next album.
Speak to cameras at the band's Converse gigs at London's 100 Club, Young confessed: “Essentially, we're a pop band. I guess we play in a rock'n'roll format but all the music we listen to is interesting pop music. Pop music throughout the ages. I think we've always from day one wanted to write pop songs, write the kind of songs we listen to. Pop seems to be a dirty word but we don't think it should be.”
Whether you consider them pop, indie-rock or hardcore electro-metal dubstep, the band will be touring the UK throughout the summer months. The Vaccines UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:
