Superstar producer and Garbage bassist Butch Vig has claimed that it's very unlikely that Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain ever made a solo album – and said that any kind of record was probably just an idea inside Cobain's head.
Earlier in the month, Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson claimed that Cobain had recorded a solo record prior to his death in 1994., saying that he was 'headed in a direction that was really cool'. But now, Vig has told NME that he's vert sceptical of the claims – and said that Cobain may have only ever played any ideas he had for an album to Eric alone.
Vig said: “He was working on songs, but they were just in his head. He might have just played them to Eric. Around that period he only wanted to talk about Courtney (Love, former wife)'s album, I never heard any of his new songs.”
Recently, Butch Vig claimed that Beatles producer George Martin was the 'greatest producer of all-time'. NOTE FROM THE EDITOR We don't run any advertising!
