Following from the news that the High Court have called for British ISPs to ban The Pirate Bay, the owners of the site have called for 'fellow pirates' to help combat the ban – and promised that they would win the fight against them.
Mr Justice Arnold ruled in February that The Pirate Bay and its users were breaching copyright by using the site and its file-sharing abilities, and yesterday demanded that British ISPs like Sky, TalkTalk and many others block access to the site. But, The Pirate Bay aren't an organisation that give in easily – and have promised that they won't be backing down.
Posting through their Facebook page, the site said: “So, apparently a UK court wanted to show off their lack of skill. Think you can block our friends? Attack with torrents, fire and lazors fellow pirates (sic)!”
They went on to later say: “We're not p*ssed off. We actually enjoy a good fight. In case you wonder, we're the good guys. And the good guys are gonna win this fight! Cause we have not only the best users in the world on our side, but also 5,000+ artists actively on our side. Can you match that BPI/MPAA/RIAA/IFPI/BASTARDS? The artist we're promoting on our front page right now, Toggi, has a very fitting line for you. 'Let them bleed'! “
