Flo Rida Served Legal Notice Over Facebook

When it comes to the rap and hip-hop world, getting served in a dance-off is probably one of every star's worst nightmares. But, today, American rapper Flo Rida got served in a different away – after Australian laywers used Facebook to serve the star a legal notice for failing to perform at a music festival last October.

The 32 year-old was allegedly paid £32,000 (or AU$55,000) for a performance at the Fat as Butter music festival last year, but failed to turn up and perform his set – leaving the festival's organisers unfairly out of pocket.

But, when lawyers of the festival promoters tried to get in touch with Flo Rida to serve him a legal notice, they were met with bouncers, bodyguards and a rather large entourage – making any kind of personal contact with the star pretty much impossible. So, seven months down the line, an Australian judge decided that the best way to serve the man was through a post on his official Facebook page - and the lawyers wasted no time in getting their serve on!

Lawyer Matthew Hourn told The Daily Telegraph: “Our process server tried arranging meetings with his agents and attended appearances in Melbourne - but due to his large entourage and security, we were unable to serve him personally.”

Remarkably, it's not the first time that an Australian judge has allowed Facebook to be used for the serving of a legal notice.
