Gotye Explains Lack Of Festival Appearances: 'I'm Scared Of Doing Them'

Belgian-Australian singer-songwriter Gotye has admitted that he most likely won't be making many festival appearances this year – because he had some bad experiences at festivals earlier in his career.

The star has found major success with the release of his third album 'Making Mirrors', with his single 'Somebody That I Used to Know' making big impacts in particular. But, despite his new found fame, Gotye, a.k.a Wouter De Backer, will not be performing at any UK festivals and barely any overseas – as daunting experiences from his past have put him off the idea.

“I'm not doing many festivals, and none in the UK, I've had enough bad festival experiences early on so I'm scared of doing them,” Gotye told The Daily Star. “I'll avoid them unless I can get more support from the organisers, more time to soundcheck or maybe move higher up the bill so I can get better preparation time.”

In recent news, the star revealed that he'd love to work with Kate Bush.
