Millionaire music mogul Simon Cowell has once again hit out at BBC singing show The Voice – and described it as a ‘bad copy’ of his show The X-Factor.
It’s a known fact that Cowell and his cronies (including band manager and X-Factor judge Louis Walsh) are haters of the show, and regularly attack it in the press. This week, he launched yet another and told Radio 4 that he doesn’t understand how The Voice made it on to television – and claimed it was a ‘bad copy’ of the X-Factor.
“That show [The Voice] puzzles me because it starts off and 'it's all about the voice',” Cowell told the radio station. “So my first thought is, 'Why isn't this on radio?' because what's the point in looking at them. Then suddenly I'm watching it a week or two weeks ago and it's the same as The X Factor. they've got dancers behind them, graphics, lights. Same show. I see a lot of shows trying to rip us off. If you try and rip somebody off it always looks like a bad copy.”
Louis Walsh bad-mouthed the program just a couple of days ago, and told Heat Magazine: “I hate The Voice. I think everyone thought The Voice UK would be like the US version, and it's not. It's dull and boring. I'm glad BGT is winning the ratings battle - it's much better.”
