American metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying have unveiled a new lyric video for their track ‘Cauterize’, the first new single to be taken from their forthcoming sixth studio album ‘Awakened’.
The news comes as the San Diego based rock group get set to hit the road for the Rockstar Mayhem Festival tour, which kicks off in San Bernardino, California tomorrow night. The band - guitarist Nick Hipa, vocalist Tim Lambesis, drummer Jordan Mancino, guitarist Phil Sgrosso, and bassist Josh Gilbert - will release their new album ‘Awakened’ on September 24th via Metal Blade.
The album has seen As I Lay Dying team up with renowned rock producer Bill Stevenson - drummer for the Descendents (and formerly Black Flag) and producer Colin Richardson, at the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO. It marks the follow-up to last year’s Decas EP, which reached #2 on the iTunes Rock Chart, and the group’s immensely successful 2010 LP ‘The Powerless Rise’, which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #10.
