Maya Jane Coles Unveils Remix Of 2:54's 'Creeping' - Listen Now

House producer and DJ Maya Jane Coles has unveiled her remix of 2:54’s ‘Creeping’ - you can check out the track below.

With their spellbinding, self-titled debut LP released in May on Fiction, sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow - aka 2:54 - established themselves as one of the most distinctive and compelling new bands around. '2:54' is a brilliantly tense yet hypnotic marriage of heavy, cinematic indie rock, narcotised R&B-influenced hooks and ethereal, doom laden walls of sound. The album has been entrancing critics and fans alike, and triggering a groundswell of rapture around one of the year's best breakthrough bands.

Now, with the band finishing up a show-stopping epic month-long voyage across the whole of the USA - where they've been treated to a fever-pitch reception - they throw yet another exciting curveball, unveiling the remixes of their current single ‘Creeping’ by none other than the all-conquering new queen of house music Maya Jane Coles.

One of the most white hot, rapidly ascendant new talents in dance music right now, after breaking through from the underground deep-house scene last year (indeed, she was named ‘Best Breakthrough DJ of 2011’ by Mixmag, ‘Best Producer of the Year’ by DJ Magazine and ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Ibiza DJ Awards 2011), Coles’ trajectory has been stratospheric ever since.

Feted by the likes of Damon Albarn and Tricky, and this year releasing her own critically acclaimed 'DJ Kicks' compilation on K7 and currently blitzing the summer festivals, she is one of the best and brightest new lights, and therefore a perfect – if somewhat unexpected – compliment to 2:54.

Her remixes of ‘Creeping’ - one pulsing, foggy monster dub, one lighter, vocal-led sister mix - hollow out the original, injecting her trademark warm-but-sparse, narcoleptic beats and toying with Colette’s fallen angel refrains and Hannah's hazy six-string swathes. She creates something entirely new and addictive, but no less haunting, with both destined to leave their mark on the all the hottest late night dance floors and headiest after-parties.

Check out the track below.
