Justin Bieber Cuts Radio Interview After Being Compared To Justin Timberlake

Canadian teen superstar Justin Bieber might be known for his ‘Never Say Never’ film, but now it seems to be ‘Never Say Timberlake’, after an awkward radio call-in ended up with Bieber hanging-up on the host - because he was compared to Justin Timberlake.
The ‘Boyfriend’ star called into South African radio show Mojo in the Morning, but ended up having a less than friendly conversation after the host made some unwanted comparisons between himself and singer/businessman Justin Timberlake. And, to make matters worse, the host made some comments about Bieber’s mother shortly after - resulting in the whole call-in coming to an abrupt end.
Replying to a comparison between his own ‘Boyfriend’ and N-Sync (Timberlake’s former boyband)’s ‘Girlfriend’, Bieber said: “Man, that's crazy because our voices sound nothing alike. I mean, I'm not trying to sound like anyone. Saying I sound like someone else is not really a compliment. I think if you were to say I heard some Justin Timberlake-esque things in your sound I would take that as a compliment.”
He added: “Justin Timberlake is definitely really talented and is similar because he's white and he's singing pop, R&B. I think we both have the type of edge. I definitely want to have my own lane and not be compared. But I think he is super, super-talented.”
As if the exchange wasn’t awkward enough already, the presenter then suggested that Bieber should be keeping an eye out for One Direction’s Harry Styles - because the 1D star may prowl on Bieber’s younger mother.
The 18 year-old then told the host: “I don't think you should worry about me - worry about your mum, bro.” The host then went and said the unthinkable - and told Bieber that his parents had passed away. As you may have guessed, this is where the talk came to a stop.
The conversation may not be something that the Mojo host may forget anytime soon, but it probably won’t be causing Bieber any trouble when he hits Britain early on in 2013. If you need tickets for the tour, check the dates and details below.
