Grammy Award-winning musician, actor, singer, songwriter and producer Jimmy Cliff has announced that his brand new studio album ‘Rebirth’ is out now.
The album, Cliff's first full length in seven years, was produced by punk legend and award-winning producer Tim Armstrong, and is the next step in their collaboration since last year's ‘Sacred Fire’ EP - which Rolling Stone magazine hailed as Cliff's "best music in decades."
"I was inspired to revisit my musical past and go back to my roots on this record. The sound of the album feels like we went back to the '60s and '70s," said Cliff. "Rebirth’ is a new chapter in my life and signifies a rebirth in my career and all I have left to accomplish."
In addition, last week Cliff invited his fans to make the official music video for the album's first single, ‘One More’. Entries must be submitted by August 20th and the overall winner (as chosen by Jimmy Cliff, Universal Music, and Genero) will receive $4,000, while outstanding videos will also be nominated for the 2012 Genero Awards - meaning they’re in the running for $25,000 in prizes.
