2:54 To Support The XX On September UK Tour And Stream New Single 'Sugar'

Having established themselves as one of the most distinctive and compelling new bands around with their critically acclaimed, eponymous debut LP, released in May on Fiction, sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow - aka 2:54 - have been announced as main support to The XX on their highly-anticipated European comeback tour this September.

A teaser date together at Battersea Arts Centre in May proved a perfect partnership, so this joint tour is sure to be something very special indeed.

2:54 will also be releasing new single ‘Sugar’. Full of dueling guitars, hypnotic dance-floor rhythms and surging vocal hook-lines, it stands-out as an instantly addictive and commanding album highlight, equal parts infectious and foreboding.

In addition, the band played a critically acclaimed run of US shows earlier this year, as well as their biggest ever headline show, at London’s legendary Scala venue. Catch 2:54 in action at the XX shows, or at a clutch of UK festival dates this summer, including Reading and Leeds Festivals, End of the Road and Bestival.

The xx 2012 UK Tour Dates are as follows:

Sept 10th - London Shepherds Bush Empire
Sept 11th - Cardiff Coal Exchange
Sept 12th - Edinburgh Usher Hall
