Passion Pit have this morning confirmed their first UK shows in almost 2 years, as well as a new single. Passion Pit Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 10th August.
The new tour announcement follows the release of their critically-acclaimed second album ‘Gossamer’. Talking to NME about the album, Michael Angelakos revealed that the new album is a more "expansive" collection of material, when compared to previous offering 'Manners'. He said: "If it feels like one song is drastically different from another who cares? I just really wanted to make a collection of good songs... Everybody now wants new songs to sound the same and I really dislike that."
'Gossamer' was recorded in the US last year and was produced by Chris Zane, who worked with Angelakos on 'Manners'. You can check out a recent Stereoboard interview with Michael Angelakos here.
The new November tour, which follows performances at the Reading and Leeds festival, begins on 16th November at Manchester's Academy. The band will also visit venues in Cambridge, Birmingham and London.
Passion Pit will release new single 'Take A Walk' on Monday 17th September.
