Alternative/electronic rock icons Muse have been confirmed to perform at the Olympics closing ceremony - and will probably play their brand new track ‘Survival’.
The complete line-up for the sure-to-be-huge finale of the London 2012 Olympics is being kept quite secret, but it’s already clear that its going to be an epic celebration of what has been the most successful Olympics for Britain since 1908, with George Michael and Ed Sheeran confirmed and The Who, the Spice Girls, and Take That all rumoured to perform. Now, Muse have become the latest band to join the bill.
“I'm happy with the song," drummer Dom Howard told NME.. “It's a proper Muse song. It's not something we did for the Olympics. They sowed a seed by asking us to do some music but then five months went by. We showed them a few songs when they asked us about [playing the] closing ceremony and they loved it. It represented the enormous competition of what the Olympics is.”
If you don’t manage to find a way into the closing ceremony, you’ll be able to catch Muse touring their forthcoming new album ‘The 2nd Law’ this October. To find tickets through Stereoboard, simply check the dates and details below and follow the links.
