Kyla La Grange Unveils 'Been Better' Music Video - Watch Now

Watford-based singer-songwriter Kyla La Grange has unveiled the brand new music video for her track ‘Been Better’, out November 11th.

Produced by Brett Shaw at 123 Studios in East London, and mixed by producer and mixer du jour Dan Grech (The Vaccines, Keane, Lana Del Rey), 'Been Better' further confirms Kyla as the British mistress of the savagely passionate, twenty-first century torch song.

The track begins with her husky, almost snarled put-down of, “tell me none of your longings, I don’t need them, or you”, and soars to a Phil Spector-indebted wall of drums and guitars that's almost vast enough to match her voice.

It has been an excellent year thus far for the young Watford native. Following a series of sold-out limited edition singles through Chess Club, Kyla signed to Sony through her own imprint Ioki Records, and received an abundance of widespread acclaim for her debut album ‘Ashes'.

She’s since toured Europe (following a Top 10 album chart position in Switzerland), and has recently completed a stint on Damon Albarn’s Africa Express tour which saw her sing alongside Damon, Carl Barat, Bassekou Kouyate, Harley from Rizzle Kicks, and Nick Zinner from The Yeah Yeah Yeahs amongst many others.

Kyla’s current UK tour finishes at London’s Scala on tomorrow (October 9th). This will be Kyla’s biggest headline London show to date and to mark the occasion she’s invited stilt-walkers, contortionists and face painters from the Chivaree Circus to entertain the crowds during sets. You can find tickets to the show (as well as tonight’s gig in Southampton!) through Stereoboard using the links and dates below.
