Stereophonics Unveil 'Violins And Tambourines' Video - Watch Now

Welsh rockers Stereophonics have unveiled their brand new track/video ‘Violins and Tambourines’, taken from their forthcoming concept album.

The multi-platinum selling band, who recently parted ways with drummer Javier Weyler and recruited former Noisettes sticksman Jamie Morrison, uploaded the video earlier today, with frontman Kelly Jones describing it as an ‘appetiser of film and new music’ from their soon-come eighth studio album.

“I’ve loved film and music ever since I was a kid,” Jones wrote of the video. “When I first started writing songs I realised they could paint pictures in your mind, which inevitably leads to telling stories. I’ve always wanted to combine them both. Directing for the first time with a fantastic crew and cast was a great experience. Here’s an appetiser of film and new music from our 8th album - listen with headphones!”

News of the new album came as far back as May last year, with the band reporting that 20 songs had been written in September 2011. Now, it seems like we could be on the verge of the record’s release - and who knows what the brilliant band have in store.

What we do know is that the album will be coming out on the band’s own brand new label Stylus Records, something the band are all extremely excited about.

Speaking of the new label on their MySpace page, the band said: “Just back from Brussels after a few days where we added some finishing touches to the new music we will be releasing on our very own, brand new label Stylus Records! Everyone in Stereophonics world is very excited to be hands on all things creative and artistic and in control of the launch and campaign throughout the world. We are getting very itchy feet we'll be in a town near you very soon!!!”

So, it looks like the album will be on the way soon - and the announcement of a tour isn’t far away with! Stereophonics fans will be very pleased - make sure you stay with Stereoboard to find out more on the album and possible tour in the near future!
