Emeli Sande On Course To Finish 2012 With Top Selling UK Album

Scottish singing star Emeli Sande’s debut album ‘Our Version of Events’ is on course to finish 2012 as the UK’s top-selling record of the year, ahead of Adele’s ‘21’ and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born to Die’.
The trio make up the Top 3 of the list, which also features the likes of Mumford and Son’s ‘Babel’, Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto’, and Ed Sheeran’s ‘+’. You can check out the Top 10 at the bottom of the article.
Dan Lane, who works for the Official Charts Company, said of the figures: “With the busiest shopping weeks of the year upon us, there is still everything to play for for the rest of the contenders. Every year, the run up to Christmas sees a massive surge in CD sales and, increasingly over recent years, digital downloads on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.”
He added: “It is still possible for late comers such as Olly Murs’ ‘Right Place, Right Time’, Girls Aloud’s ‘Ten’, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s ‘The Throne 2′, Tulisa’s ‘The Female Boss’ and Bruno Mars’ ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ to make a huge impact on the year end charts.”
