British alt-rock superstars Coldplay have begun work on their sixth studio album, following the success of their last, chart-topping record ‘Mylo Xyloto’.
The news will come as music to fans’ ears, who were recently met with rumours that the band would be taking a three year break from touring - something which they’ve now dismissed. Frontman Chris Martin also revealed that the new album’s title would ‘be pronounceable’.
Fans had feared the worst when Martin told a crown in Australia that they’d be away for three years, but speaking in an interview with The Daily Star, Martin revealed it was simply a reference to their lack of world tour plans, and that work had already begun on a new Coldplay album.
“I've been writing songs and I'm so fired up about the band's future,” Martin revealed. “I'm fortunate to do what I do and no way do I want to stop. This three-year break idea only came about because I said at a gig in Australia that we might not be back there for three years. 'That's probably true, but that's just how a world tour works. No chance are we taking a three-year break.”
It may be awhile before you get to lay your ears on any of the material, but at least you now know that it’s on it’s way - stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the band’s progress.
