Muse Launch 'Animals' Music Video Competition With Genero.tv

Muse have teamed up with genero.tv – a creative community that unites filmmaking talent with some of the world’s foremost musicians – to offer rising video directors the chance to create the official promo video for their track ‘Animals’.

‘Animals’ is taken from Muse’s most gloriously ambitious album of their career, ‘The 2nd Law’, which went straight to Number 1 when it was released in September. “That’s the song aimed at the Fred Goodwins of this world,” says vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy in reference to the disgraced British banker. “It’s looking at people who are instrumental in bringing down whole countries.”

Muse have left the brief wide open for the video, so filmmakers are encouraged to interpret the song and create their own distinctive vision for the track.

The director of the winning video will win £3000 as well as tickets to one of Muse’s summer 2013 stadium shows at which the video will be shown in full. The video will also be used for further promotion for the song, and will be featured on the band’s official website and YouTube channel. Any outstanding videos will also be considered for the Genero Awards.

Entrants will need to join genero.tv and download ‘Animals’ from the website’s project page. All entries need to be submitted by 14th January 2013, 23:59 GMT time. Muse and Genero will decide on a winning video, and all entries are subject to terms and conditions.

Muse will play the following UK stadium shows next summer before touring across mainland Europe.

Muse UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:

Wed May 22nd 2013 - Ricoh Arena, Coventry
Sat May 25th 2013 - Emirates Stadium, London
Sun May 26th 2013 - Emirates Stadium, London
Sat June 1st 2013 - Etihad Stadium, Manchester
