Guitarist Adrian Belew Quits Nine Inch Nails

Friday, 07 June 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Following the big news of a new single, new album and live dates, guitarist Adrian Belew has announced he has quit Nine Inch Nails less than four months after joining the band.

Belew joined Trent Reznor and co. back in February and was set to perform with the band on their forthcoming run of summer shows. A Facebook post on Adrian's official page broke the news earlier today:

“Hey folks, before this goes too far let me say this: I greatly respect Trent and the music he makes. No one is at fault. We both agreed it just was not working. I’m sorry to disappoint anyone. That really hurts. But NIN will do an amazing show and I am back where I belong: creating FLUX.”

That statement was recently deleted and replaced with a shorter post:

“Concerning me being part of the 2013 Nine Inch Nails band: it didn’t work.”

Adrian is the latest member of the reformed industrial giants to announce his departure from the line-up. Bassist Eric Avery decided to call it a day last month and was replaced by Reznor's collaborator Robin Finck.
