Californian alt-rockers Mazzy Star have announced 'Seasons of Your Day', which is set to hit shelves on September 23.
The band - most famous for their track ‘Fade into You’ - have finally finished work on what will be their first record for a massive 17 years. It follows on from their 2011 double a-side single Common Burn/Lay Myself Down and both those tracks feature on the new LP.
Co-written by Hope Sandoval and David Roback, ‘Seasons of Your Day’ was recorded in California and Norway. The album features performances by all the original members of Mazzy Star, along with special guests including Colm O’Ciosoig (My Bloody Valentine) and the late, legendary Bert Jansch, in a guitar duet of chilling intensity with David Roback on the song Spoon.
‘Seasons of Your Day’ was produced by Roback and Sandoval, and is being released on their own label Rhymes of an Hour Records. Formats will include CD, 180g vinyl double LP, and digital download - you can check out its tracklisting below. You can check out brand new track ‘California’ too - look out for its music video coming soon!
