Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos was almost forced to pull out of a festival in Budapest on Sunday after treatment for an allergic reaction left him unconscious hours before the band's set.
Two festival medics came to Kapranos' aid after he suffered a reaction to some peanuts. After taking two injections, he was left to recover and luckily made it back to his feet in time for their performance, which went ahead as planned.
The news was first broken by Ryan Jarman - frontman of the Cribs - who told the crowd:
"[Alex Kapranos] is on his death bed backstage following a peanut incident!"
It was later confirmed by a festival spokesperson, who revealed all the details. Meanwhile, Franz Ferdinand return to the UK for a brace of gigs later this month, one in London, and one in Glasgow. If you need tickets, check the dates and links below to find a pair through Stereoboard!
