Glasvegas Announce Release Of ‘Later…When The TV Turns To Static’ And Post Album Sampler

Wednesday, 14 August 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Glasvegas have announced that they will release their third studio album, ‘Later…When The TV Turns To Static’, on 2 September. Featuring the singles I’d Rather Be Dead (Than Be With You) and If, the album was recorded in their hometown of Glasgow at Gorbals Studio with singer and songwriter James Allan in the producer’s chair.

The title reflects much of the album’s lyrical sentiments with James explaining thus: “When you think about night time and the TV's static, I never think about anybody who's got company, because if they've got company the TV wouldn't be at static, somebody would change it. So there's something that isn't quite right. Something that's not parallel, symmetrical, that's out of balance, basically. There are a lot of those sentiments running through this record.”

The album release sees the band embark on a full UK and European tour and will be followed by the release of the album’s title track as a single on September 23.

The album comes in standard format and a special deluxe edition featuring a bespoke 40-page booklet overseen by James Allan and featuring unseen photographs alongside a DVD of the bands acoustic performance at recorded live in a 19th Century Baptist Church in Glasgow.
