The Horrors Consider More Work On New Album Following Release Date Delay

Friday, 06 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

The Horrors are considering a return to the studio, for more work on their up-and-coming album after its release date was pushed back.

The five-piece were preparing their fourth record, the follow-up to their Top 10 2011 effort ‘Skying’, for an Autumn 2013 release in mind. However, for reasons seemingly unknown, the LP will see a release next year instead and the band are unsure of whether to take it back for some more edits and potentially add some tracks.

Speaking to Live4Ever, guitar-player Josh Hayward explained:

“Given more time, and our itchy fingerness, we’ll probably carry on writing more songs for it. We had quite a long time away from it so there’s no harm in going back in and looking over the album again to see if there’s anything we could do differently.”

Josh continued to explain that their style may have evolved since they recorded the original tracks, something which could affect the album heavily. He said:

“The album was very us at that moment. Now it’s been put back there’s a good chance we will end up wanting to change it because we’re constantly having new ideas and trying different things.”

Self-produced, the record was previously described as being ‘fun’ and 'dance-friendly', however, with these potential changes, it could end up sounding very different.
