Manchester band the 1975 have added new Manchester and London shows to their 2014 UK tour.
The 1975’s self-titled debut album topped the UK album charts this weekend. A love letter to youth, played out in bold and brash technicolor, the eponymous debut album has cemented The 1975's status as one of the breakthrough bands of the year. The album fought off tough competition from the likes of Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Hesitation Marks’ and Rizzle Kicks’ ‘Roaring 20s'. Check out Stereoboard's 3.5/5-star review here.
The quartet recently revealed one of the year’s most unlikeliest covers, a guitar-filled rendition of One Direction’s That’s What Makes You Beautiful. Recorded for the much-loved BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge series, the cover sees frontman Matthew Healy and co. giving their own take on the teen-pop hit, which was the boyband’s first proper studio single and also their first UK Number 1.
