Following months of speculation, superstar Britney Spears has announced a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Announcing the news at a surprise appearance in the Nevada desert, which saw over 1,000 Britney fans in attendance, Spears later went on to attend Good Morning America, revealing that she’d be kicking off her Piece of Me residency on December 27.
The two-year stint will see Britney performing her greatest hits as well as new material from her forthcoming new album, including latest single Work Bitch, which premiered over the weekend.
Today's residency announcement came as countdown timer on Britney's official website hit zero. Split over 48 alternating weekends, tickets for the concerts go on sale September 20 with a number of options available to fans including Meet & Greets, Fan Packages, and a 'Front & Centre VIP Table' amongst others.
Speaking about the residency on Good Morning America, Spears said:
“I love Vegas. The energy is really good. I'm going to do my greatest hits, but I'm going to have to put some of my new material in to keep it fresh. I'm definitely ready. I sometimes have training for five hours a day.”
