The Wanted Explain Album Delay

Friday, 20 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

The Wanted have explained the recent delay of their new album ‘Word of Mouth’.

The boyband have been waiting for a heck of a long time to release their third full-length collection - the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Battleground’ - and have finally set a November 4 release date for it.

But, the album was originally set to be released on Monday (September 23), a date which actually a push-back from September 2012, and the boys have been a little frustrated that they haven’t been able to get their music out to their adoring fans - though they did release an EP last year, and have been teasing us with singles from the LP since April last year.

Now, speaking to MTV, the guys have filled us in on why they’ve had to wait so long, and promised fans that it will totally be worth the wait.

“We had a very busy year. We decided to do a TV program [E!'s ‘The Wanted Life’], which took up a lot more schedule then we thought, and then all this stuff that we planned to do kinda had to move back as well.

“And then we thought the album was good to go, and last minute a few quite cool gigs and a couple other things popped up that we thought, 'It's probably worth waiting for the album a little,' I mean, the fans have waited a few years, so what's a couple of weeks?”

They continued on to admit they really weren’t ready last year, but now, they’ve created their ‘best album yet’.

“I think that we weren't ready a year ago. It just wasn't ready; the songs weren't finished. We want to put out the best us and we are ready now and every song is so personal and we've all aged as writers, and it's very mature... and it's the best album yet.”

Though you’ve got a little longer to wait until the record hits shelves, the band did recently unveiled their latest single Show Me Love (America). You can check it out below!
