Natives Release 'Going In Alone' EP As Free Download

Hotly-tipped Hampshire quintet, Natives, have today released the ‘Going In Alone’ EP as a free download. 

The four-track EP, lead by a track from their anticipated forthcoming debut full length, has been released in time for Christmas as a thank you to their loyal fanbase’s patience in getting the album ready to release.

The band recently signed to Transmission Records and more news on the album’s release will arrive in the new year. Speaking about the EP, singer Jim Thomas says:

“We made the EP completely free as our way of saying thank you to the people who have patiently waited for new music from us. We hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it. We spent some time at Egypt Lane Studios with our good friend, Jake Robbins, crafting the 3 tracks which accompany the title song. ‘Church’ was a song which we wrote originally for mandolin during a frustrating time a few months back when we weren’t sure how / when we were going to release the album.”

“We had fun covering Foster The People on our ‘Stand For Something’ EP and decided to have a go at covering something else. We were all big fans of ‘Youth’ by Foxes and it left us lots of options sonically to experiment.  We absolutely love working with Jake on Egypt Lane versions of our own songs and Going In Alone was the most fun we’ve had yet. It’s always interesting to de-construct the song to it’s bare bones and then build it up in a new way. When we first wrote the song the demo was titled ‘Lone Ranger’ as the riff reminded us of the wild west. We took that idea for this version and ran with it!!”

Natives kick off 2014’s live commitments with a show with Red Hot Chili Peppers in the Philippines, before returning to the UK and Europe for a headline tour.
