Timeless Motown legends The Four Tops and The Temptations return to the UK this week to relive the R&B and soul classics that delivered Detroit to music history. To celebrate the tour, Stereoboard and Eventim have joined forces to give you the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to see the two legendary bands live at Leeds First Direct Arena on Tuesday April 1. The competition closes on Monday March 24 at 12pm. Enter your details below to be in with a chance of winning.
Hailing from the home of the Motown Sound, Detroit, The Four Tops and The Temptations are two of Motown’s most influential recording groups. Across five decades, they’ve sold tens of millions of albums, spacing from R&B to funk, disco and soul.
Originally from Detroit, The Four Tops moved to LA in the early '70s and continued playing with no change in their lineup until 1997, when Lawrence Payton passed away. The current line up includes original founder member Abdul “Duke” Fakir. Also from Detroit were The Temptations, founder and original member Otis Williams is still in the band and had this to say about the forthcoming tour.
“We love playing in the UK, the audiences are the best in the world. We’re really looking forward to sharing our music with you, together with The Platters and Freda Payne who are joining us this time around. We hope you’ll enjoy the shows as much as we will.”
As mentioned, special guests joining the bill will be The Platters and Freda Payne.
