Goldfinger Cancel Slam Dunk Appearance, Pull Out Of Headline Tour

Wednesday, 30 April 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Goldfinger have been forced to pull out of their appearance at next month’s Slam Dunk Festival and the accompanying Slam Dunk Ska Punk Tour.

A member of the band has taken longer than expected to recover from minor surgery, meaning that they are currently unable to travel and perform.

John Feldmann, Goldfinger’s frontman, said in a statement:

“Due to this unexpected situation, Goldfinger will not be performing at the Slam Dunk Festival/UK headline dates in May. The band is deeply saddened as we were looking forward to being part of Slam Dunk for some time now. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and will make the shows up as soon as we can.”

Festival organisers will shuffle the bill and add a new band if required, while Zebrahead will top the Slam Dunk Ska Punk Tour, with the exception of a cancelled Norwich date. Slam Dunk added:

“As for the tour…the shows will be replaced by Zebrahead headline shows, with the exception of Norwich which unfortunately has been cancelled. Existing ticket holders should contact their ticket provider for details of getting a partial refund and still going to the show or getting a full refund. We are as bummed about this as you guys, but stick with us for an update in the near future!”

Slam Dunk will feature sets from All American Rejects, Less Than Jake, We Are The In Crowd and Kids In Glass Houses and will head to Leeds University on May 24, The Forum, Hertfordshire on May 25 and Wolverhampton Civic on May 26.

Slam Dunk Festival Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

Sat May 24 2014 - LEEDS Metropolitan University
Sun May 25 2014 - HATFIELD Hatfield Forum
Mon May 26 2014 - WOLVERHAMPTON Wolverhampton Civic Hall
