Gerard Way To Make UK Solo Bow At Reading And Leeds

Gerard Way will play his first solo UK shows at Reading and Leeds this summer. The former My Chemical Romance frontman is among 50 new acts added to the bill for the twin-site festival, which will take over Richfield Avenue in Reading and Leeds’ Bramham Park between August 22 and 24.
Way will play the NME/Radio 1 Stage, with Schoolboy Q, Maverick Sabre, DZ Deathrays and La Dispute also announced for the tent, while Chino Moreno’s Crosses will head to the Lock Up Stage alongside We Came As Romans, Muncie Girls, Brutality Will Prevail, Lesser Key, the HELL, Beasts, Masked Intruder, Emily’s Army and Vales.
Over on the BBC Radio 1Xtra Stage, MistaJam, Raleigh Ritchie, Dirty Dike, Edward Scissortongue, Dominique Young Unique, Tempa T, Little Simz, Newham Generals, Adian Coker, Kwabs, Elli Ingram, Hawk House and My Nu Leng will perform, with Sigma, Indiana, RÜFÜS, Panama, Kove, MØ, Lxury and Billion appearing on the dance stage.
The Festival Republic Stage, meanwhile, will now also host sets from King Charles, Southern, We Are Scientists, the Amazing Snakeheads, American Authors, Little Matador, the Minutes, Leaders Of Men, the Sunshine Underground, the Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Sivu, Drowners, Lucius and Saint Raymond.
