Aphex Twin Uses Deep Web To Confirm New Album 'SYRO'

Tuesday, 19 August 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Richard D James has confirmed the release of a new Aphex Twin record, ‘SYRO’, through the deep web.

James posted a link to a URL only available to users through the Tor browser - used to navigate the dark reaches of the deep web - on August 18, where the above image, the album’s title and tracklist was discovered.

Pitchfork has confirmed that the information is authentic, while a new website has also been created containing selected information but not the title or tracklist.

The announcement of the album follows several days of ambiguous Aphex Twin activity, with the logo cropping up at locations in New York and on a blimp in London. James last released ‘Drukqs’ in 2001.
