Cut Ribbons Unveil Title Track Of Debut Album 'We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn'

Monday, 10 August 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

Cut Ribbons have unveiled the title track of their debut album, 'We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn'.

The Welsh indie-pop quintet's first full length offering is due August 21 via Kissability. Discussing the song, which you can check out below, singer Aled Rees said:

"We wrote this during a really sunny spell of weather and I think that's what shaped the feel of the track. We come from a coastal town but the lyrics were written whilst I was in Tenby. In the van coming home from shows, seeing Mumbles lighthouse and the pier, only then it feels like we are almost home. It was something that factored into the imagery but not so much the narrative. We want to watch something we loved burn is just the personification of reckless abandoned, a pretty romantic notion to write about I think."

Cut Ribbons will play next at The Ffwrnes in Llanelli on August 21. Following that they will call at Festival Number 6 on September 4, The Big Cwtch at Crugybar on September 12 and Gloucester's Underground Festival on September 26.
