Iggy Pop To Release Josh Homme Produced Album 'Post Pop Depression' In March

Friday, 22 January 2016 Written by Laura Johnson

Iggy Pop will release his Josh Homme-produced album, 'Post Pop Depression', in March.

The rock icon's 17th solo album is set to arrive on March 18 on Rekords Rekords/ Loma Vista/ Caroline International. For the record Homme and Iggy Pop enlisted Homme's Queens Of The Stone Age bandmate and The Dead Weather's Dean Fertitia and Arctic Monkeys' drummer Matt Helders. Discussing the collaboration with Homme, Iggy said:

"I wanted to be free. To be free, I needed to forget. To forget, I needed music. Josh had that in him, so I set out to provoke an encounter-first with a carefully worded text, followed by a deluge of writings all about me. No composer wants to write about nothing. He got revved up and we had a great big rumble in the desert USA.”

Josh Homme added:

"This was to go where neither of us had gone before. That was the agreement. And to go all the way."
