The Dillinger Escape Plan Cancel Remainder Of European Tour Following Serious Bus Crash

Tuesday, 14 February 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

The Dillinger Escape Plan have cancelled their remaining European tour dates following a serious traffic incident this weekend.

The band's bus was hit while travelling to Krakow, Poland and The Associated Press have reported that 13 people were injured, though the band have confirmed "that nobody is in critical condition".

Describing the accident in a statement on their Facebook page, they said: "We were ripped out of sleep at 8:25AM to what still feels like a lucid nightmare. The cacophony of metal bending and things breaking and people screaming and what felt like being hit by a missile. Without going into detail, not everyone is out of the hospital yet, and some of us are hurt worse than others."

The tour, which had dates left in Germany, France, Spain and Belgium throughout February and March, was to be their last prior to taking an indefinite hiatus and they are hoping to reschedule: "We will reschedule every one that we can, and we'll update more when we can."

The band have made it clear in an edit to the original Facebook post that they have not set up any GoFundMe pages following the incident and any that appear may come "from fan good will, not something we can control".

The Dillinger Escape Plan released 'Dissociation', what could be their last album, in October. We spoke with vocalist Greg Puciato about it. Head here to check out the interview.

The band are set to return to the UK in June to headline the Avalance Stage at Download festival.
