Dave Clarke Announces New Album and Releases Single With Mark Lanegan

Monday, 21 August 2017 Written by Jennifer Geddes

Dave Clarke has announced a new album and released its first single.

Charcoal Eyes (Glass Tears), which features Mark Lanegan, is the first release from the electronic musician's forthcoming third album, 'The Desecration of Desire', which is set to arrive on October 27.

The record also features the former Screaming Trees frontman on the album track Monochrome Sun and includes collaborations with LOUISAHHH, Mt. Sims, Anika, Gazelle Twin and Keith Tenniswood.

Speaking about his first release since 2003's 'Devil’s Advocate, Clarke said:

“I decided to write it as I would a book, so the track order you have was also the order in which they were also written, like chapters. "

Discussing why the album contains hardly any techo music, he continued:

"I wanted to make an album that was not a collection of club tracks. I listen to many types of music all the time and I felt free for the first time to implement this approach for my own project."

'The Desecration of Desire' tracklist:

  1. Exquisite
  2. Is Vic There? (feat LOUISAHHH)
  3. Frisson (feat Mt. Sims)
  4. Plasmatic
  5. Dot Forty One (Mute)
  6. Charcoal Eyes (Glass Tears) (feat Mark Lanegan)
  7. Monochrome Sun (feat Mark Lanegan)
  8. Cover Up My Eyes (feat Gazelle Twin)
  9. I’m Not Afraid (feat Anika)
  10. Death Of Pythagoras
