If You're Over Me is the second, following Sanctify, to be lifted from their new album, 'Palo Santo', which is due to arrive on July 6, accompanied by a short film narrated by Dame Judi Dench.
Speaking about the track, vocalist Olly Alexander said:
“This is a song about trying to stay friends with an ex. Spoiler alert - it doesn't often work. In fact, in my experience, the relationship often ends up ruined. ‘If You're Over Me’ is about the emotional torture that ensues - meeting up and making out, then breaking up all over again, then making out some more.”
The band's next UK show will be at Swansea's Singleton Park on May 26 as part of BBC Music's The Biggest Weekend, while this summer they have a headline London Roundhouse show lined up for July 10, as well as a number of festival sets, including RiZe, Victorious and Fusion.
