Tunng Announce New Album 'Songs You Make At Night' And Autumn Tour Dates

Wednesday, 16 May 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Tunng have announced the release of their sixth LP and accompanying tour dates this autumn.

The experimental folk band will release 'Songs You Make At Night', the long awaited follow up to 2013's 'Turbines', on August 24. On announcing the record band said:

"This record has got balls, it's got darkness, it's got bass, it's got Fender Rhodes, it's got underwater depths, it's even got Jenny, but best of all it brings all six original members of the band back together for the first time since 2007.

"It has been amazing to have Sam back in the fold and the gorgeous songs he and Mike have crafted together have brought out the magic in all of us.

"Our first single ABOP is out now. We had to shorten the title because none of us was sure how to spell phosphorescence."

Take a look at the album's cover art and a video for ABOP, short for A Bloom Of Phosphorescence, below.

Tunng will support the release of 'Songs You Make At Night' with a European tour, including UK dates during October. Tickets are on sale now.

The announcement follows band founder Mike Lindsey's work with Laura Marling on a project called LUMP. The duo's self-titled debut album under the moniker is due to arrive on June 1 through Dead Oceans.
