Jay Watson Shares Video For GUM Track Couldn't See Past My Ego

Tuesday, 05 June 2018 Written by Laura Johnson

Jay Watson, of Tame Impala and POND, has shared a video for Couldn't See Past My Ego.

The track is taken from 'The Underdog', the latest LP under his solo moniker, GUM, which arrived in April. It followed up 2016's 'Flash In The Pan'.

The video, meanwhile, was shot on 35mm Fuji Film on the west coast of New Zealand's north island. Discussing it, director Sam Kristofski said:

"The concept never really came to us, we started filming because Jay only had a small window and the sun was setting, this is what happened. After we finished shooting we all had a sauna and knew we had filmed something special."

Stereoboard spoke with Watson around the time of the new record's release. Head here to check out the chat.
