HMLTD Unveil Video For New Single Pictures Of You

Thursday, 07 June 2018 Written by Laura Johnson

HMLTD have shared a video for their new single, Pictures of You.

The track, which the band wrote and produced with Justin Tranter, will feature on their new EP, 'Hate Music Last Time Delete'. It will arrive on July 6 through RCA.

Speaking about the collaboration, Tranter said:

“I came across the band on line and my brain exploded. The tracks, the guitar tones, the lyrics, the beautifully odd vocal, and the brilliant visual aesthetic. I stalked them online until they would work with me, and they finally replied, flew out to LA and it was love at first sound.”

In a statement about the song, the band commented:

“In the internet age, nothing is ever truly removable, and no one entirely forgettable. The effect this has on love and heartbreak is tragic. ‘Pictures Of You’ was written as a song about masturbating to photos, sent by your ex-partner, that you can’t delete. We look at old photos or videos and believe we still love the person in them, but really, we just love that image of them. Then those images become mere vehicles for our own self-love. Like Narcissus himself, you lose yourself in the reflection offered up by these images and the tragedy is complete.”

HMLTD have a busy summer of festival appearances ahead, including stops at Deer Shed, Truck, Visions, Green Man, and Reading and Leeds. They will also support Nine Inch Nails on December 3 in San Franciso and in Los Angeles on December 11 and 12.
