Rat Boy has announced a new album that was produced by Tim Armstrong.
'Internationally Uknown' was recorded in the Rancid frontman's Shiprec Studios in Los Angeles. The follow up to 'Scum' and 'Civil Disorder' will arrive on January 25 through Parlophone and Armstrong’s Hellcat Records.
In addition to Armstrong and Rat Boy's live band, the record features collaborations with former Aggrolites bassist J Bonner, the Interrupters’ vocalist Aimee Interrupter and John King of the Dust Brothers, with the latter contributing to production.
Jordan Cardy, aka Rat Boy, said:
“I wanted to do this completely differently because ‘SCUM’ took so long, and I was learning the whole way through making it. I wanted to make something more personal and raw, which reflected me more. I was trying to find that sweet spot between hip-hop and punk, and Tim really understands that stuff. I’ve never really spoken to anyone else who love hip-hop and punk like I do.”
Head below to check out the album's artwork and tracklist, three new songs and a video for the title track. Chip On My Shoulder, Internationally Unknown and No Peace No Justice merge punk and hip-hop with ferocious energy and snotty swagger.
