Deerhunter Announce New Album And Share Video For First Single Death In Midsummer

Tuesday, 30 October 2018 Written by Laura Johnson

Deerhunter have announced the follow up to 2015's 'Fading Frontier'.

'Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?' will be released on January 18, with dates in Japan lined up for later that month and a North American tour set to follow in February and March.

The album's announcement arrives with a note from founding member Bradford Cox. Go here to check it out and head below to watch a video for the record's first single, Death in Midsummer. It's the kind of expansive indie-rock we've come to expect from the band, with modestly intricate accompanying compostions performed by instruments ranging from guitar to what sounds like an electronic take on the harpsichord.

The video, meanwhile, was edited by Marisa Gesualdi and features the band traversing a barren landscape and abandoned town.
