Andy Burrows Announces New Album 'Reasons To Stay Alive' And Accompanying February Tour

Andy Burrows has announced a series of tour dates for February.
The former Razorlight and We Are Scientists drummer will bring to life 'Reasons To Stay Alive', a collaborative album with bestselling author Matt Haig, at shows in Brighton, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Winchester, Southampton, Bristol and London, where he'll perform at Oslo in Hackney.
The pair, whose friendship blossomed after "meeting" on Twitter, spent a year passing ideas back and forth to create a collection of songs loosely inspired by Haig's books, with words by Haig and music by Burrows. The first single from the album, Barcelona, is out now with the album set to follow on February on 1 via Fiction Records.
"As soon as I heard what Andy was doing, I couldn’t have imagined it any other way," Haig says. "He had somehow unlocked the melody inside the words. It was so instantaneous, to have that back and forth. When you write books it’s not the same, that’s more like the musician-producer relationship. I’ve hated collaborations before!"
"The reason his words rang so true with me is that the darkness of life is so important to filter, and take on board, and put back out - but these songs all have a trim of colour and an optimistic flare," Burrows adds.
