Billy Bragg Lines Up Three-Night Stand Shows For One Step Forward. Two Steps Back Tour

Tuesday, 05 February 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Billy Bragg has announced details of his One Step Forward. Two Steps Back Tour.

The singer and activist will play three different concerts with three different sets in nine cities, with stops planned in Portsmouth, Bristol and Dublin during July, London, Cambridge, Glasgow, Manchester and Sheffield in November, wrapping up in Birmingham in December. Bragg explained:

"Pleased to announce that my three-night stand shows are coming to the UK and Ireland. First night is my current career-spanning set, second night songs from my first three albums, third night songs from my second three albums.

After more than three decades of travelling around the world in a van, or spending all day flying vast distances to play a gig, I'm looking forward to having some time to explore cities that I usually only get to see between the soundcheck and the show. And this three-night stand format is a way of keeping things interesting, both for me and the audience. I tried it out in Auckland recently and had a lot of fun revisiting my back pages."

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on February 8.

Bragg's last album was 2017's 'Bridges Not Walls'.
