The California punks will head to the UK this November for shows in Birmingham, Leicester, Bournemouth and London, where they’ll play the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, before heading to Europe. Tickets go on sale at 10am on August 2.
The new tour will support the band's new album. ‘Railer’ is due for release on October 4 through Fat Wreck Records, and boasts production by Cameron Webb, who has previously worked with Alkaline Trio and Motörhead.
The first cut from the new record, Bubble, is a huge pop-punk track driven by some bold snare hits and breakneck, heavy guitars. Frontman Joey Cape explained:
“The idea of that song was to embrace and appreciate what you have. I really specifically tried to make it feel and sound like an old Lagwagon song, so I borrowed a lot from early records for it. And then from there, I just kept thinking that the rules have to be that 'Railer' feels like something Lagwagon might have done in the old days. I wanted to see what would happen if I didn’t overthink things and I just tried to write a record as quickly as possible without losing the quality I expect from myself as a songwriter.”
Lagwagon are also set to head out on a co-headline tour of North America with label mates Face To Face this fall.
