Mikal Cronin has announced a new album.

‘Seeker’, which was largely written in the small California mountain town of Idyllwild, will arrive on October 25 via Merge Records and follow up 2015’s ‘MCIII’.

Cronin will support the LP with tour dates across the UK and Europe, performing in Bristol, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds and Brighton between February 24 and 29, 2020. Tickets are on sale now.

The first cut from the record, Show Me, takes on a slacker-come-blues rock aesthetic with a slow pace, while still keeping to his usual garage-rock style. Its video, meanwhile, was directed by Yasi Salek and sees the singer-songwriter driving a 1964 Ford Falcon around the neighbourhood, while friends and collaborators play a range of different instruments in the backseat.

“Show Me is a song about feeling small in an overwhelming world,” Cronin commented. “There's a not-quite-subtle hint of the Heartbreakers in the instrumentation and arrangement, having asked many friends to play or sing. It's one of my favourite songs from the album, I hope you like it too.”

'Seeker' tracklist:

  1. Shelter
  2. Show Me
  3. Feel It All
  4. Fire
  5. Sold
  6. I've Got Reason
  7. Caravan
  8. Guardian Well

  10. On the Shelf
