Nils Frahm has announced the third and final instalment of his 'Encores' EP series.
'Encores 3' is due to arrive on September 20, culminating the triology of releases, with all three EPs to be made available as a full-length titled 'All Encores', out on October 18.
Featuring 80 minutes of music, 'All Encores' is led by the new experimental trip All Armed and follows the Berlin-based composer's most recent LP, 2018's 'All Melody'.
'Encores 1' focused on acoustic sounds with solo piano and harmonies at the core, while 'Encores 2' explored ambient landscapes. The upcoming 'Encores 3' expands on the percussive and electronic elements in Frahm's work. He said:
"The idea behind 'All Encores' is one we had from before 'All Melody'; to separate releases each with their own distinct musical style and theme, perhaps even as a triple album. But 'All Melody' became larger than itself and took over any initial concepts. I think the idea of 'All Encores' is like musical islands that compliment 'All Melody'".
Frahm will play The Hydra presents show at Printworks in London on August 23.
