Courtney Love has shared a new song.

Mother will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming film The Turning, which is due for release early next year and features Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard.

The song is a guitar-led rock ballad with Love's trademark candid lyrics and wails, with her grunge roots really coming through for the last minute. It marks her first new material since her 2015 single Miss Narcissist.

Love's last solo album, meanwhile, was 2004's 'America's Sweetheart', though she did put out 'Nobody's Daughter' under the Hole moniker in 2010.

The 'Celebrity Skin' line up of Hole — Love, Eric Erlandson, Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf Der Maur — are rumoured to have rehearsed together earlier this year, but no official announcement on the future of the band, new material or any upcoming shows has materialised.
