Perfume Genius Confirms New Album 'Set My Heart On Fire Immediately', Releases First Cut Describe

Perfume Genius has announced his fifth album.
‘Set My Heart On Fire Immediately’ is due for release on May 15 through Matador and will follow up Mike Hadreas’ 2017 LP ‘No Shape’.
The first cut, Describe, is a sombre yet grunge-driven piece of art rock that breaks down into an expansive, ambient melting of synths by the halfway point. The video, self-directed by Hadreas, at first depicts a rural village of people going about their arduous tasks, before they all revert into a writhing cluster of bodies.
He said of the track:
“It started as a really sombre ballad. It was very minimal and very slow. And then it turned into this beast of a song. I started writing about when you are in such a dark place that you don’t even remember what goodness is or what anything feels like. And so, the idea was having someone describe that to you, because you forgot or can’t get to it.”
Perfume Genius will support Tame Impala on tour across North America from May until August. Tickets are on sale now.
